My bed almost won the battle of keeping me from my commute today. Partially due to the fact that one of the wickedest wind storms I’ve seen in a long time came ripping through Ivins just as I was riding home last night.

You can always tell you have a good, strong headwind when tumble weeds, branches and small children are blowing past you in the opposite direction. Said wind also caused the cancellation of the night ride. KB and I tried to walk over to the gas station (just around the corner from the house) and were sand blasted. Looking south towards the Santa Clara River Reserve we couldn’t even see the mesa because so much dust had been kicked up.

But, as usual, I digress.

I almost didn’t commute this morning. The bed was stuck to my back side and things were looking poor for my car staying put. I finally dragged my ass off the mattress at 7:30 which  in the past has been reason to keep from riding to work. Today I got up and got going. Ate in fury, showered in a rush and headed out the door. I even forgot my water, but I got to work under my own power.

Ride More. Drive Less.
