I rode the Goose today. Not that goose you dumb ass, Gooseberry.
I got an invite to join a group ride out to the mesa with an unlikely group, at least to be inviting me. The SGPD would have had plenty of reliable witnesses had anything gone awry, like me being thrown off the point.
The group ride went about the same as all group rides. We rode, then stopped. Then screwed around. Then rode. Then stopped. Then rode. Then screwed around. The group of SG’s finest kept me laughing most of the day. Some of the shit they have to deal with is down right hilarious. Although, having to deal with it in the moment may not have been quite as funny as listening to it afterward.
The wind blew all day and the temperature continuously dropped the whole time we were out there. Despite the weather it was a blast to ride around the Goose with folks I hadn’t ridden with before. Jared, who invited me, is a damn good rider. I must hold my head low and admit that he rode up stuff that I could not and did it smoothly to add to the injury. Truth be told, it was nice to ride with someone who challenged me in that way…
I had noticed yesterday that my legs were burning a bit more than usual. At first I thought it was the big bike ride in conjunction with the wind, but today I felt the same way. I just couldn’t sustain any momentum. It may be time to fix my brake…
Out.
