Little Creek

KB and I decided to forgo the torture/death march the Big D had planned due to the wind. We went up the mesas instead ending up at the Little Creek parking lot. Sure the wind was howling but the trees kept things nice and the breeze made sure that we didn’t get too hot. The road out to the mesa is in excellent condition and the trail is as good as it gets. Even the four-wheeler widened singletrack is mostly back in shape.

We went out and rode the outer loops and then hit a section of trail that was new to us that followed the rim all the way around to the rock bridge. Last time I was at the bridge there was talk of such a trail but that was years ago and apparently it has come to fruition. The trail is mostly dirt singletrack and just hugs the rim giving some amazing views. Seeing that we usually ride the Trees of Mystery and the inner loops, it is quite possible this trail has been there for years, or maybe always, but it was new to us and we enjoyed every inch of it.

That’s two days in a row rocking the bikes. Lucky for me (or unlucky seeing that I have to work seven days straight after) I have tomorrow off as well. The plan was to ride the Goose with a big group of guys including Sir Pratt and Supervisor Jared but I haven’t heard anything in way of details. I guess I better start making some calls.

Out.
