Exhaustion, Nightmares and Tells from the Trails

I wanted, nay, needed to ride my bike. Sitting through Management classes for the first part of the week and then working the last couple of days with no pedaling was not making me happy. The yearning… Oh the pain… I think you all know what I mean.

We had planned to rock out the TFL. Well, the TFL can be a bit of a risk this time of year. Seeing that it takes you to the foot of Pine Valley Mountain and then there is a good twenty miles or so where there are no bail outs. You are in it or you aren’t. And if you aren’t, you better hope you haven’t made it to the point of no return. With that said, and considering the forecast we woke up to, we chose not to ride the Turkey Farm Loop. Instead we headed out to Bloomington…

The idea was to get as many miles as possible before we gave out or it started to rain. By the time we got to the trailhead things were looking good. The sun had broken through the clouds and the temps had spiked. We tore off a few layers and then stashed them in our packs and headed up the Micro Loop. We knocked it out quickly, hit Stucki turned into Jay’s Wash and made our way to the SCRR.

We decided to traverse the wash first and ride Sidewinder and Barrel Roll. This plan was due to the logic that if we did the Rim Jobs first we would be less inclined to traverse said wash leaving us without riding the Barrel Roll. The logic held, but we didn’t ride the Rim Jobs… Due to what has become the quote of the day, “The weakness caused by the exhaustion out the butt.” I will let you all wonder what that is about and speculate on who said it…

The photo evidence.

After the ride we all needed some food so we hit up a spot that I must admit we had neglected for some time. Fortunately for us, they were still there and still had cold beer and good food. Las Palmeras. If you are in the Green Valley area, this is a great spot for some authentic El Salvadorean food and after ride beer. Despite what is on interconnectedwebs, they are located in the Green Valley Market…

In other news, the Alliance has two events coming up this week. First we have the No Dabs, Turkey Loving, Goose Riding contest on Thursday. Meet at the White Trailhead at 10 am and bring $1 for entry, all proceeds go to the winner. And then for Black Friday, Fixie Dave is throwin’ up an Alley Cat. It’s sure to be a good time.

That should be plenty to burn the calories off after Turkey Genocide Day.

Out.

A jam for the evening…
