The happenings that happened.

LoToJa happened this weekend.

I just got done checking the results. Mr. Bracken and Mr. Larsen did well coming in at 9:24 and 9:26. I always feel a tinge of nostalgia on this weekend. Even to the point that I almost called Sunrise to see how things had gone. But then I didn’t.

I did scroll through and everyone that I was aware of that was riding finished. So congrats to all.

Those of you who are members of the Alliance via the Book of Faces know that I had high hopes of starting Goose season this weekend. Unfortunately the trip to Brian Head had left the bike I wanted to ride in less than optimal conditions. So I didn’t go. Rather, I dragged myself out of bad around 9, had a nice, greasy breakfast at St. Helens and then went for a road ride.

The new ride was waiting for some saddle time.

KB and I headed out on what is our common route, the Southern Parkway Loop. This is a pretty easy ride that gets us back to our front door at mile 27 and there is very little climbing.

As you can see my views were enjoyable.

We did get nailed with some pretty fierce head winds for the last 15 miles. You can always tell when I’m in a tough head wind because it is the only time I go to my drops. I really need to start doing some Yoga. The head wind took us from 14 mph down to about 10mph, but we made it.

I am still blown away at how smooth my new ride is. Smooth and lively. Thank god for steel. I also found that I could coast downhill as fast as KB could pedal downhill. Sure I’ve got some wait on her, but those Dura Ace wheels sure roll nice.

Anyway, time to wrap this up. Remember that this Friday is Pedal Driven. So come out and have a good time with other bike-minded folks. Be at the Electric Theatre between 6-8 for the Expo and then join us for the after festivities as well.
