Matching Red Rock Jerseys on Last Week's Ride

The Alliance got out last week end for a nice ride. We all met at the Barrel Roll trailhead and headed toward the Rim Loops. Bryce got to the big up hill to get out of the ravine and lost his derailleur. After screwing around for about 20 minutes he turned back and the rest of us headed on. This left the group to Danny, Kim, Cim, KB and myself. We ran into Guy Smith at the top of the mesa and he stopped to chat for a bit.

After the rim had been ridden, Cim pedaled her way home, Danny and Kim bailed due to other obligations, but KB and I finished out the ride by hitting the Barrel and making pretty good time. We then met up with Cim and Bryce at Las Palmeras, one of the more frequented stops for the Alliance.

Afterward, I hightailed it up to the Green Valley parking lot to meet up with the Red Rock shop ride and was able to catch them just as they were ready to leave the parking lot. After the lunch, in conjunction with the wind, I felt like I was going to explode by the time I made it to the end of the dirt road but I continued. Once on the singletrack I made it to the second significant move on the trail and couldn’t get in my pedal. Once up on top, I stopped to wait and found the problem, the spring that holds the wings open on my Crank Brothers Candy 4ti pedals was broken, again. On most trails I would have just continued and suffered through it, but the Zen is a little more challenging. So I turned around. Got home and took the pedals off.

I now have three sets of Crank Brothers pedals for sale, the 4ti’s that were recently rebuilt by CB and are currently working, a set of Egg Beater SL and a set of Mallet C’s. They will be on ebay or craigslist soon. I’ll post links if anyone wants them…

Ride more.
