It was a few years ago that Sir Gurr and myself sat in the back of Red Rock Bicycle and discussed putting on a cycling festival. We dawned it the People Power Festival. Gurr headed out with great aspirations, got the city involved, got lots of money for advertising, got the volunteers and somewhere along the line the People Power Festival turned into the Cactus Hugger festival and quickly went down the road of all cycling festivals that have been put on in SG. After one year it was back down to just being a century that has gone on for years under the same name. I can guarantee all of you that the right intentions were there for the entire thing and the best efforts were made to ensure a good festival….
Well the years have gone by and things have kept rolling in the same manner around here and now I’m back in the mix. And I think we should get this thing rolling again. Just imagine, a good solid festival here in our neck of the woods. Let that roll around in your mind for a bit. Then shoot me an email and lets get this thing going…
