I’ve found it increasingly hard to commute regularly.
I’m not sure of the exact root issues at hand, but getting out of bed a little earlier to make the ride in time has to be the number one cause. Unfortunately as I road through the gate to the back of the shop this morning, I thought about the “one less car” moniker that commuters, myself included, have used to express their motivation.
I hadn’t thought much about that idea for a while, at least not until this morning. The fact of the matter one less car on the roadway means a lot of things. It’s giving the middle finger to the established way of life, if it can be called life. It’s removing one fossil fuel burning coffin from the roadway. It’s being closer to humans and saying good morning as you pass. It’s being independent in its purest form.
Maybe now that I’ve remembered what the hell I’m doing or more often not doing, I’ll be able to get out of bed.
Ride more. Drive Less.
