Last week’s Sunday School lesson was prepared and taught by Heather.
The requisite posting of the topic to be studied was made and the troops gathered at the holiest of places, Alberto’s in Hurricane. It was fitting as the lesson was to be on the Guacamole trail.
As is the norm, Joey was running behind and the Mooseknuckler Bicycle Transporting Machine was loaded and headed toward said place. We arrived as the group was readying to re-enter their cars and head to the trail. To our surprise Ali K Nut was there and preparing to ride with us. I rushed inside. I had been waiting for this burrito all morning and it was now 11 AM and I wanted, nay, needed a burrito.
The Mooseknuckler saw that it was good.
First lesson learned from Sunday School, patience is a virtue but it can also make you really hungry, which in turn may make you really angry.
The road up to Guac is still a bit frozen and muddy. It doesn’t ever see the sun. Yes, you could probably drive up it without any problem. No, we rode our bikes. It was a good warm up.
Top of the hill, clothing was removed as our warm up was just that, a warm up and certain people who tend to exaggerate their clothing when the temperature drops below 65 had to remove all of their thousands of layers. Patience…
Kenny was selected as leader and he did not disappoint. We rode the inner and outer and Holy and other stuff too. I have a GPS file of it, if you are really all that interested in exactly where we rode.
Second Lesson, The great lobster in the sky created this amazingly beautiful, all though slightly backward, area and we should enjoy it.
Rollers were rolled. Rocks were climbed. Cheers were yelled and high fives were shared.
The ride came to an end. At the point of that last picture, I ended up in the same photo twice. It was one of the highest points of my life and thankful that Heather’s Sunday School Lesson allowed that to happen in conjunction with Lynda’s phone and the software it had installed.
And then it was time for Sacrament. Don’t mind the creeper in the back.
Lesson Three, persevere to the end, because if you do the Alliance usually has beer in the truck.
