Today is a very special day. It’s one of those once in a lifetime kind of days. Which if you think about it, every day is kind of a once in a lifetime kind of a day.
But, as always I digress, today is special because it is the 450th post on the Mooseknuckler Cycling Alliance 2.0 Site. If we were able to add up the old site, which we can’t because it got eaten by the Langoliers, I’m sure we would have at least 451 posts already and this would cause today’s post to lose all of its glamour. But nay it has been lost forever and it isn’t coming back, so today is the 450th post.
Who cares?
The Church of the Holy Alliance of Mooseknucklers held services this past Sunday.
Now that I have officially fallen of the wagon of not going to church and have become a consistent, faithfull attendee, I decided that I should find the best pew in the place. After a few weeks of trying out a couple of different ones, I found my pew. It fits my butt quite nicely and I can sit comfortably on it for hours at a time. This is extremely important when one attends church, because you tend to need a comfy place to sleep.
So I threw a couple extra bills in the collection plate and reserved my pew.
This past week’s service took us from the Lounge up to Grapevine, out on Prospector to Red Cliffs and then a return trip via Church Rocks and Dyno Cliffs. The weather was pretty amazing and the changing colors of the cottonwoods was just an added bonus. Someone has been out doing trailwork as well. All of the jumps have been torn back down and the trail is buff. Even the switchbacks down into Church Rocks from the Bracken’s Loop were raked. They are still steep and loose but they were clean. So whoever did that, thanks.
In related news related by the fact that chronologically it is about to happen, Turkey Genocide Anti-whatever the hell I named this Event is this Thursday(Title Procuring Editor’s job still available at the Alliance). We will be heading out from the Lounge at 10, meaning we should be hitting the trailhead around 11. If you would like to carpool, be at the Lounge before 10. I make no guarantees that seats will be available but we can always try.
For those of you who aren’t into that, the yearly Turkey Day thingy for roadies will be happening as well. Rumor has it that they will be leaving the Ivin’s Firehouse around 11 and should be done by 1:30 leaving you plenty of time to gorge yourself on dead rotting turkey carcass.
And for those of you who have no idea why I posted that video at the beginning of this post, just ask Prattipus for a demonstration.
Now go ride your bike.
