The Almighty Chaco, as he has mandated being called since being appointed CFO of Mooseknuckler Cycling Alliance, Inc last night, has required that I try to keep my posts cohesive, coherent and with some sort of motif. Well, that’s a high order but I wish to keep my job here at the Alliance and the Almighty Chaco has barked.
Seeing that I’m not very creative and that I am a walking paradox of contradictions, this may be harder than he thinks.
But onward, howard, dirtward…
You may or may not have heard me ranting about buying a drum kit about a year ago. Well, I still have it and I still suck at playing it but I do love a good drum line on a song, so here’s a few for you to enjoy.
This first one takes me back to middle school. I actually listened to this song right before I broke up with my first girlfriend. I did this, of course, by having my best friend call and tell her.
I also never got to see the Pumpkins live. From what I hear, mostly from Joey Dye, it is an experience that I did indeed miss and I should regret.
Next on our playlist, is a song that has been declared the best preride song of all time. This was declared by the Pre-ride Music Master of the Universe in our Mooseknuckler’s Year 2011. It was after countless hours of research that such a claim was made and to this day it still holds its place. The drum line also gives me chills…
And while this next song’s drum line can’t be described as the most amazing, it’s pretty spot on for a punk band. Plus it’s one of my favorite songs. It is a youtube video so that will keep things cohesive, even if we have thrown coherent out the window.
This next band must be watched not just listened to. I first learned of their existance in the house of the Great Green Socks a.k.a. the German. I happened to walk in on a video viewing session his wife (now ex) was having. I was entranced. There is something magical about watching a musician make love to their instrument, and that is the best way I’ve heard these guys described.
I’ve been a System of a Down fan for quite some time, but the moment I first heard Toxicity I was blown away. I love this cover.
I might lose my job over this one because it doesn’t even have a drum line. But again, it is a youtube video and I like it. So now we aren’t cohesive or coherent based upon my declared thesis, but I do feel I have been consistent.
And for if for nothing else other than heaviness, War Pigs gets final billing. I’m not a fan per se of Black Sabath, but this song kicks ass.
In other news, I just received a memo from the Almighty Chaco, apparently my post wasn’t cohesive enough and I have been laid off. If you are interested in filling my shoes, you can apply at the Lounge.
Out.
