I really do like onions but that has nothing to do with this post.
Let me start out by saying that I realize that I have been posting mostly downer shit that has nothing to do with bikes. Well, in my defence I haven’t ridden in almost a week and when that happens I kind of feel like a downer. So before you start sending me emails/text/FB messages to make sure that everything is ok and that I have, in deed not put a bullet through my own nor anyone else’s head, I modestly inform you that I do have a day off tomorrow so things will be ok. And by have a day off, I mean to say that I will not be found at Red Rock Bicycle nor answering any phone calls/tests/emails or random queries related to said locale. So if you need something urgent like, call the shop or you will have to wait till Wednesday.
In shop related news, there have been and are some fairly considerable changes that have take and are taking place for me. Things are moving toward a happier me, a more relaxed me and most likely a much poorer me. With that said, I have been agonizing over how to transport my poor ass to and from places. Gas is shooting upward as the middle east is now in flames and I would like to be able to say that I can get myself around quite well without depending on an automobile. At the same time, my commuter is on the auction block and hopefully will be gone soon, if you’re interested shoot me an email/text/phone call/FB message and I can give the details. If been playing around with ideas of modifying one of the three useless bikes in my shed as to make them appropriate for said transporting. But in a positive twist of events and some skilled negotiating by myself (meaning I asked) I was able to trade some wheels for a commuter, and one that I have had my eyes on for some time.
Yup. She’s a beaut. Belt drive, internal 8 speed hub, disc brakes, BOB friendly (you all do remember my friend BOB, right?) and I can mount a Nice Rack to it as well. Just think of the fun I’m gonna have transporting myself and say, cases of beer or vegetables to deliver. Yea, good times ahead. Should be here Wednesday which will make me very happy.
Speaking of vegetables to deliver, it’s about that time. KB and I will planting here in a few weeks. I’m excited to get my hands dirty and grow some goodness right here in the back yard of what has been known as the Mooseknuckler Cycling Alliance World Headquarters.
Well dinner is calling so I leave you with this.
