You will be popular with the local birds.

Ride. Ride. Ride. Ride. Ride. Ride. Ride.

As is usually the case, the moment you are somehow physically restricted from riding you will yearn to pedal. Such was my case. Not only did the weather go back to amazing but I hadn’t ridden in quite some time and there were a few things bouncing around in my head that I needed to work out on the bike. I’m not sure about the rest of you, but my therapist is my bike and that is the way it has always been. Ride…

The Mooseknucklermobile, in all its unseriousness, headed down to Vegas. Apparently the weather here wasn’t going to be as nice, and the mrs. wanted to get out of town something fierce. We headed down with the Pratt-Chacon family and ended up on the Cowboy trail. I prefer to let the photos speak for the trail, but all in all, it’s always good to ride something that is new, to feel the new dirt under your tires and not be absolutely sure what is around the next corner…

After the radness was done, we found ourselves at the Yard where we spent oodles of money on excellent drink and food. Not suprisingly, I ate more than I had in a week. I swear it.

On a side note, it took me almost two hours to get those pictures from my phone to my computer. This process used to only take a matter of seconds, but apparently the giant evil V (that’s Verizon for the uninitiated) had installed some retarded update that made my computer recognize my phone as a cd rom. Meaning that I could not access any of the files or pictures stored on it without using their “special” software. I tried to play nice and use their software but found it so archaic that it would have taken even longer to try and figure out what the hell they were thinking. Essentially they had taken my awesome phone and rendered it almost useless. Luckily, Android is open source and there are a lot of fixes for this kind of thing. I ended up installing a pirate driver and fixed the problem. Moral of the story, there is nothing worse than being hoodwinked by some moronic corporation and due to their asinine updates as of late, I’m pretty sure I will be switching carriers when my contract is up. That’s 6 years of loyally paying my bill and now they will no longer get my money.

Moving back to on.

Saturday was a much needed ride, as I mentioned, but other things that have been keeping me up at night for the past 18 months boiled over for me and I made some drastic decisions on Friday. Luckily for me, my wife is more supportive of me and my hair brained ideas than I could ever be of myself and encouraged me to move in a direction that makes the most sense for me. I have never made New Year’s Resolutions before, but this year I made some quiet promises to myself that I intend to keep, 100%. Friday was a step back to the line in the sand that I had drawn. The funny thing about lines in the sand is they are easily moved…

In light of that, here’s some Philips…

Good words, good ideas.

Back to riding, which I did. Yesterday I had planned on doing the Barrel to Zen death march that I have grown fond of, but when I sent out the word that a ride was in order I recieved an invitation in response from Danny to come and chase Kathy Sherwin around the Santa Clara River Reserve. I brought the dogs along so I would have a good reason to not be able to keep going. Then I went with plan C and let KB take the puppies home while I chased Danny and Kathy around Sidewinder and the Barrel Roll. I held my own. By the time we were done, the legs were on fire and I wanted nothing else than to be able to ride again. Not right then, but maybe the next and the next and the next. I guess that’s a sign that January is almost over and things are starting to thaw out. This is usually when I love to ride.

I did have the satellite aided tracking device attached to the handlebars so here are the results…

Now, it’s time to ride again…
