Exhaustive research, field studies and countless hours later

The Alliance got out again last night and rode in the dark.

Instead of the high pace of the Ice House we had the high cadence of the Prospector to deal with. The group gathered at 7:30ish. We assembled the lighting mechanisms, suited up in what each of us thought would be the best clothing options and then hit the trail. The group consisted of myself, Mehr, Shelby and Tristen. I headed out at the front of the group and we hit the ground running, as it were.

Things went nicely as we climbed out of the trailhead and began to head towards our first “descent” that is a rocky, loose 30 yard little ditty that can be a bit sketchy. Tristen was right on my ass all the way to the bottom of the hill. At which time I heard a holler and then a thump. Man down. Oh, that’s why helmet lights are a good idea… Tristen was trying to follow me around a corner when his handlebar lights were still shining straight when he wanted to go right.

The rest of the ride was fairly uneventful and a good time was had by all. I suppose. I didn’t exactly do any after ride interviewing because I was cold and ready to be home. In your face…

The important news, however, is the final experiment to determine the absolute best pre night ride listening music has been finalized and the song has been determined. Now let me mention that this search has taken years, about 17 to be exact and the music has ranged from country, to old school rap to punk to heavy metal. Countless blind tests and not so blind tests in conjunction with thousands of hours listening to good and not so good music has determined that Vicarious is the best damn pre night ride song.

Enjoy!

I will be riding again on Sunday. If it is not raining I plan on hitting the Turkey Farm Loop. If the mists are dropping on our little valley I would like to ride the Creeks that are Little. Let me know if anyone is interested.
