Last Sunday. Wow!

KB and I got up and headed over to the Santa Clara River Reserve for a nice dirt ride, something we hadn’t done in quite some time. We rocked out 16 miles rolling across all of the trails in the reserve. It felt really good to rock out some miles on the dirt, especially on trails we hadn’t done for a while. It reminded me of how awesome the trails are out in Santa Clara.

We started by pedaling over to the Rim Runner section. And as usual rode all of the flower loops by always going left. And as usual the trail looked as if it hadn’t been touched in quite some time. And not as usual, we actually ran into Tyler Moon and company coming up the trail as we were finishing up. I rarely see anyone on that mesa…

Then we went up the Sidewinder, down the Sidewinder and around the Barrel Roll. And done.

Barrel Roll
The maiden voyage

Then I got a text from Bryce which was actually to have me forward on the message that Fishbone was playing in SG at the Electric Theatre. I sent the message on and then figured out who Fishbone was. KB and I decided to go on over. I am really glad we did. It was one of the most amazing shows I’ve ever been to. There was maybe 40 people there so the show was intimate. Angelo, the lead singer came down into the crowd and mosh, and danced, and shook everyone’s hand. Even at the back of the pack you still would have only been thirty feet away from the band. And these guys are good. Musically they are astonishing. I have never heard a rock band where there were three vocal parts that are singing harmony while maintaining some crazy ass rhythms and dancing around.  And then there is their weird side.

Still for the $15 it cost to get in we were treated to world class musical entertainment right here in SG and there were only 40 people with whom we had to share the experience.
