Alliance Rides

The Mooseknuckler’s soujourn in the polar north is coming to an end, soon. As of the 13th of December I will no longer be residing in Logan. To celebrate the time that I have been here as well as the marvelous rides that will be coming in the future, the Alliance will be doing the LotoLa Challenge. This is a mystical ride with a long sense of history. So, to make this short story longer than it needs to be, we will be riding to Preston and back on Sunday the 7th of December.

Be there…

I will post more details as the ride gets closer.

Out.

Due to my grandfather’s recent death I will not be coming down to St. George until next week. I’m sorry, but it’s not my fault.

I am accustomed to letting you all know that I will be in St. George about ten minutes before I leave then people have plans and can’t go riding, ya da blah ya blah ya da ya. So I’m going to be on top of things and go ahead and spell out the schedule for the rest of my duration in the polar north.

I will be in SG this coming weekend. I-dog was promised a trip south in return for some favor that I can’t even remember what it was. If I know myself the way I do, I would bet he worked a Saturday for me so I could head south at some point in the past. Anyways, we will be down Friday evening and be leaving Sunday evening with lots of riding in between. It seems Big T might make an appearance as well… (more…)

It was a beautiful evening. One of those that are easily melded into memories that you can’t quite forget nor can you put a time and a place on them, you just remember the evening, the temperature, the leaves, and maybe a face or two. It was a perfect evening for Pedipolo. So we got our polo on…

We had a reduced crowed compared to other nights, so we played two on two and things went without a hitch. We have dubbed Brian the all-time-all-star and then we made him sit out a game. The other suspects were Jack, LP and Little Erin.

I took the camera with hopes of getting some blurry pictures with a long exposure. Things worked out as I hoped. Now I hope you enjoy the blurry pictures… (more…)

It’s that time of week again. Time to pull out the mallets and beat someone’s wheel to a bloody pulp. And play some pedipolo if you are so inclined. I expect certain people to be here this week. Cole I’m talking to you….

Nothing’s changed but for those who don’t know, we will meet at the temple overflow parking lot at 8:30.

Be there…

I sent out more than one invitation yesterday for our night ride, but as 7:30 approached I was getting less and less excited to dawn the gear and go for a ride. First off it was cold. The temperature has taken a dive that has put us a bit out of the perfect realm of riding weather. Second, my shoulder was still hurting something fierce and I wasn’t sure that a ride was going to be a good idea.

Knowing that people were going to show up motivated me enough to get my gear together and head on over to the shop. I was secretly hoping that no one would show so I wouldn’t have to go. As I pulled into the driveway, I could see that there was a truck witha bike in the back of it. “Damn,” I thought, “maybe they weren’t there for the ride.” I got out and went in to get my steed. The weather is perfect and the beautiful Cache Valley singletrack is now completely covered in fallen leaves. There is no better time to ride your bike than today.

The Alliance will be heading out tonight for another night ride. The original plan was for Jardine but we’ll keep things open until we see how the air feels tonight. We will be meeting at Sunrise Cyclery at 7:30. Bring your light and cold weather gear.

If you haven’t experienced a night ride yet, then you really need to give it a try. In my opinion there are few things that compare.

Hope to see you there,

Just a quick reminder that we would love to see you all out for pedipolo this evening. I know I sound like a scratched CD but be there at 8:30 in the temple overflow parking lot.

Night ride.

These are two words you will never truly know the meaning of until you participate in one as awesome as I just did. The crew and I decided to hit Green canyon last night. It was by far the greatest night ride I have ever been on. It wasn’t necessarily the trail that made the ride so enjoyable, it was the conditions. The temperature was cool and crisp, the moon was full, and the sweet strains of Frank Sinatra were in the air (ok, not that last part). The moon was so bright it was almost like I was riding during the day with my favorite pair of Oakley sunglasses on. The climb up the canyon was quick and enjoyable once I got dialed into my own pace. I was one of the second to last rider to reach the top. When I arrived Eric was calling for his dog Yuko like usual (that dog gets lost on every trail we go on!). (more…)

The Alliance was out in force last night with good reason. The weather took a turn for the warmer yesterday and the moon was full. Five of us total headed up Green Canyon last night for a most memorable ride.

Erik, Eric (also known as Sunshine), I-dog, Justin (new to the Alliance) and I all met in the parking lot around 7:30. Things felt great and after what seemed like an eternity of waiting for me to get my shit together, we headed up the trail. The bottom was nice and dry. The Eric/k’s headed out strong. I was sure that if their pace held I would have to consider the ride one of the hardest and shortest death marches I have ever been on. Luckily things slowed down a bit after the first section of singletrack. Either that or I just warmed up so I didn’t feel so slow. (more…)
