July 2008

We’re up against it here in Ralph’s home state — Connecticut.

I’m Ken Krayeske, the state coordinator, and I promised Ralph I would get him on the ballot here.

We have only 7,000 signatures in hand. And we need to get to 15,000 in five days.

We have 30 to 40 people on the ground collecting in Connecticut and we need to pay for their gas, transportation, copying costs.

You get the picture.

To do that, we need your donations now — $10, $20, $50, $100 — whatever you can afford.

Why are we busting it so hard every day to get Ralph on the ballot here?

Because it’s not just about Ralph. (more…)

We did play last night. We did have fun.

We will be playing again next week, same time, same place.

We are excited to announce that Ralph Nader is coming to Utah!

He is going to speak with former mayor of Salt Lake City Rocky Anderson. Rocky Anderson has been an environmental leader in Salt Lake City, winning the EPA’s Climate Protection Award in 2003. The Mayor has also been an outspoken critic of the Bush administration and a supporter of impeachment proceedings against the President and Vice President. (more…)

Just a reminder, we will be playing polo tonight. Meet at 8:30 at the overflow parking of the LDS Temple.

Out.

Two weeks ago we sent you the message below to announce our 100 cosponsors in 100 days initiative to stop media consolidation.

We’re only two weeks into this summer campaign, and already more than 40 members of Congress have signed on to this important legislation. We’re almost halfway there, but we need your help.

Please click on this link to sign the petition to help us get over 50 cosponsors before next week, when Congress will leave D.C. for the summer.

Thanks for your help,

The Sunrise Crew got out yesterday afternoon for an awesome ride to White Pine and down Bunchgrass. The weather was perfect, but the trail was less than agreeable. Conditions were dusty to say the least. The majority of the trail was about three inches of that fine dust that coats are trails this time of year. From what I understand just about everyone went down, I was only witness to one wreck but the carnage was dutifully noted with photographic evidence. Kevin Brengalman went down hard in the section of switch back dropping down towards the lake and had trouble pedaling the rest of the ride. Ryan and Little Erin also went down in the same section. Brian Shirley took a shin-banging spill in a steep section in the middle of Bunchgrass. Despite all the spills everyone had a smile once we reached the bottom…

The road group just left today, but everyone is invited for Wednesday where will be doing another mountain adventure.

Out.

I’m back at work and let me tell you how excited I am to be here…

So excited I’m sitting here writing about all the fun I had for the past few days with tears running down my sunburned, muddied cheeks the way they would on a four-year old who just skinned his knee while playing army in the back yard. I promised you all a report and a report you shall get. Where to start? (more…)

To all Mooseknucklers for immediate release:

Summer/Fall season of Pedipolo will start next Tuesday the 29th of July. Games will be held every Tuesday until we stop having them. To participate you must be at the Overflow parking lot for the Logan LDS Temple at 8:30. Bring a two-wheeled love machine, a mallet of some sort (hockey sticks work really well) and your biggest smile. If you don’t show up we will hunt you down because we know where every last one of you sleeps….

Ahhhh, the nostalgia…

The Alliance is one again sponsoring a bit of a harebrained trip. Aaron Nielson and Zane Salzetti are heading out for a long journey trip via the most efficient form of transportation, the two-wheeled love machine. They will be riding from Logan through northern Nevada, down to San Francisco  and then up the coast to Portland. Why? you ask, to once again prove that cars are unnecessary and that root of all evil in our society, kind of. Aaron and Zane want to show that getting around on bike is easy and if they can ride to Portland than everyone else should be able to make it to the grocery store.

Of course, these guys are in need of any assistance anyone can hook them up with. If you live in the areas they are heading or would like to donate some silver to the boys drop them an email at solid_zeal(at)hotmail(dot)com or thecutlassfish(at)hotmail(dot)com.

Stay tuned for updates from their adventure right here at the Alliance.
Anarchy means that we must help each other out because there is no one else to do it for us.

Life goes on. Ride it on a bike.
