My pure no-vote stance has just been changed. Now that Nader is in the running I have someone I can actually stand behind and say I support. Not because he is the better of two horrible candidates but because he has consistently stood up to big business and bad politics for years. He represents the little guy fighting off the evil.
You may be right. He probably isn’t electable but that is why it is so obvious we should all be supporting him. The media hates him, big business hates him, bipartisan politicians hate him, I think I love the guy.

Out.

Haha, I voted for him in 2000 and they say it cost Al Gore the win. I don’t care what they say though I voted for who I stood behind. I will be doing it again this year. Fuck the rich big business candidates I say. They are all bought and paid for. Nader is a real person who has been fighting for the cause as long as I can remember. I’m all for him.

They can say whatever they want but no one but Al Gore can be blamed for “losing” the election. If he had said what he should have said, what Nader did say and has been doing for the past 3 decades maybe he could have won. Unfortunately for America, our democracy is ran by corporations on both sides of the bipartisan system. I say throw a wrench in their spokes and let them cry about it.

Just got back from hearing James Carville, the Democratic Party strategist, speak in New Orleans.
When someone asked him what he thought about the possibility of Ralph Nader getting in the race — this was one day before Nader’s announcement — Carville said that if Nader’s heart were on fire, he wouldn’t piss down his throat to put it out.
We laughed. But there’s some real bitterness there.
My guess is Republicans are glad that Nader is in the race as it may help keep a Democrat out of the White House.

Yeah, I would suspect both those things are true and for some reason I just don’t care.
I usually don’t vote because I will not support someone I feel shouldn’t be in control. With Nader I feel he will fulfill his promises, stick up for the little guy and actually stir up the status quo. I also know that these are the exact reasons he will never be elected, but that’s not the point. The point is I will only vote for someone I truly want to be president not the least of two evils.
In my oppinion that is what democracy is.
