La Maga came to visit me this weekend. We had lots of big plans of stuff to do but didn’t do much of any of it.

We did get two short snowshoeing jaunts in. The first was up Jardine Juniper on Sunday. The sky was grey and overcast but the temperature was just about perfect. It did drop a few snowflakes on us but not anything that would have sparked any degree of concern. We went to the stream crossing about half way up the first draw. The snow was deep, white, and suprisingly it was wet as well. We left late in the afternoon, so our quick hour hike was all we really had time for.

Kathleen was not very happy on Monday when we woke up to a snow storm. She was planning on going home so she could teach today. She decided it was best to stay an extra day than try and learn how to drive in the snow during a severe weather warning. I thought that was a good idea as well. This means that we got to go snowshoeing again on Monday. This time around we just went up Green Canyon. Yes, the trail with the infamous rock. We walked up about 3/4 of the first section of singletrack and then headed home.

I have to say that snowshoeing isn’t the most exciting of the activities that happen out of doors. But, and this is big, at least it gets me outside. I have been a festering little sore ever since I came back from SG due to the lack of physical exercise. Now that KB brought the shoes up for me, I have something that I can do to alleviate a little boredom, at least for an hour or two at a time.

Anyways, I hope that all of you Mooseknucklers down south get your asses out of doors and ride in your beautiful weather. Then you should write about it and send it to me so I can post it on this pathetic little website.

Peace.
