Well, I’ve owned my Niner now for almost six months, time to move on.

I’ve been itching lately for something new for my bike, but as a singlespeed it is tough to upgrade when I already have the parts pick that I want. My Niner has not let me down as of yet and I hope it never does, but I think it is time for the Knuckler to reach the pinnacle of Bike Snobdum and purchase a custom built bike. Yes, that’s right my children custom built, as in, I’m going to commit to owning this bike for the rest of my life. No, buy and I’ll sell it in a few months if I don’t like it. I’m going to get this shit dialed and have it till the Knuckler stops pedaling which will coincide precisely with my death.

Now, my choice of company may become as a bit of a surprise to some of you. I am a big fan of Circle A Cycles and their ideas, seeing they are similar to mine. Just check out the Anarchy sign on the headbadge and you may understand what Circle A means. OK I’ll say it they’re anarchists. Unfortunately they aren’t willing to build me a bike with disc brakes so I’ll have to save that dream for my track bike. There are also many other companies out their that are much bigger and better known that do their shit right and should warrant interest. I, for one, have been lusting after a certain bicycle for a while, and with a little new technology they have acquire I think I’m ready to jump ship and take the plunge.

Ever since I started wrenching, I have heard countless conversations about how the bicycle should be driven by something other than a chain, with all of its moving parts to wear out. I’ve been privy to the intricacies and even the conspiracies why we don’t have a shaft driven bicycle. I’ve also been told countless times that no manufacture would ever think about producing a bike with a belt, for one obvious reason, there is no way to replace it.

I introduce you to the new carbon belt drive that will be part of my Spot bicycle. To see the bike I want, go to bikes and then select the Longboard singlespeed. B E A U tiful if you know what I mean. Call me snob, call me what you will, but I’ll have my bike.

Peace.
