The Mooseknuckler Alliance used to be a great site. I’ll be the first to say that I read it on a regular basis. But as of late it has been lacking in quality and quantity… (more…)

Well, it doesn’t happen very often, but I went down last night.

5 of us (KB, Green Socks, Little Erin, Ryan and myself) went up Ricks and came down Steels yesterday. The climb up was great except that last mile of straight up. I confess I used the granny gear, which in my case means I was walking. Ryan was in great form and mountain goated his way to the top. The mosquitoes were out in serious hordes as well and left me looking a bit like pin cushion. They made it nigh impossible to stop and take a rest. (more…)

The Wednesday ride went off without a hitch yesterday. We had a nice jaunt around the Mud Flats loop up right hand fork canyon. It was a little warm climbing up Willow Creek but once on top things started to mellow out for us. The trail was in the best shape I have ever seen it, but still not in excellent shape. Any of you who have done this trail won’t be surprised to hear that there still are parts that are destroyed from the cows. (more…)

Ok, it’s going down and this is how it’s gonna happen. This Friday 9 p.m. at the Merlin Olsen park’s basketball court. Bring a mallet, a pedal-able two-wheeled love machine, and your biggest smile.

Need I say more?

Well, things went down exactly the way I thought they would.

We met at 5:30ish at the shop and carpooled down to Brigham City to the start line. We found Bill (the rider from Ogden) when we noticed a fixie leaning up against the barriers with an enormous gear (53 X 13). The count down began and most of the team was in the bathroom so we headed out a bit after the bulk of the riders. (more…)

This just in from Speedy…

I am 2 weeks away from the MS 150 and I need your help!

Help me raise money for the National MS Society as I ride in the MS 150 in 2 weeks.

Every hour of every day, someone is diagnosed with MS. Almost 4 years ago I became one of those people. We can use your help and that’s why I’m asking you to support my fund raising efforts with a tax-deductible donation. No amount is too small, 5 dollars, 10 dollars, anything helps us in this battle. (more…)

Last night, Rupert Murdoch launched a laughable attack against you, the media reform movement, and journalism itself.

His on-air bully Bill O’Reilly called us “crazy” and “fascist” — you, me, and the millions of others who want media reform. These people are “doing a lot of damage to America,” O’Reilly yelled. Our crime? Calling for journalism that’s more honest, just and accountable to the public.

When Bill O’Reilly goes after you, you must be doing something right. So we’ve decided to return the favor, and tell him two things: (1) Thanks so much for the compliment and (2) please stop pretending to be a journalist.

Tell Bill O’Reilly: Stop Pretending to Be a Journalist (more…)

just wanted to let you know my award-winning film, KLUNKERZ, will be shown at 9:30 PM at the Easy Street Cafe during the IMBA World Summit.  KLUNKERZ is my first film, and I’m very honored that the legends of cycling have graciously allowed me to tell their story. The film will screen Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night on the outdoor patio at the Easy Street Cafe in downtown Park City. The film has changed significantly since it first screened in Park City at X-Dance back in January of 2007. There’s tons of new historic footage and photos, new narration, new soundtrack, etc.  It’s definitely not your typical ‘bike porn’, it’s more of a homespun tale about a group of characters who inadvertently created a pastime for the masses, a multi-billion dollar industry, and an Olympic event. KLUNKERZ has received rave reviews from both the cycling and mainstream press (see below) and is now available on DVD. If you’re interested in carrying the film at your store, please contact VAS Entertainment (www.vasentertainment.com) for more information. I would imagine you might sell a few during the IMBA World Summit.  Don’t forget to visit www.klunkerz.com for more information on the film and the folks who brought you the mountain bike. Thanks for your support and I hope to see  you out on the trails.

Ride on,

An Associated Press poll released on Friday shows:

Barack Obama 47 percent

John McCain 43 percent

And Ralph Nader 6 percent.

And that’s Nader at six percent with virtually no mainstream national press coverage.
Why is Nader’s six percent important?

Debate Nader.Because this might be the year when the Presidential debates are busted open. (more…)

One last thing for today.
