Ride Report: Goose with the Moose

goose18You all know that the Goose with the Moose is the most fun you can legally have in Southern Utah so I won’t waste your time explaining it to you again.

This past weekend the Alliance was out in full force with a head count of 19 as we slowly rolled away from the trailhead. There were the usual suspects, some dignitaries, some rif raf and the newest addition to the Alliance, this guy.

goose19We followed the regular course heading out from the Windmill trailhead and making the requisite stops as we journeyed around the North Rim. We had a hell of a train going down the Gravity Cavity and clogged up the trail in more than one spot. Especially on the Point Trail, as we had to get some loving arm action to get a few of the group up the uber steep climb.

Beers were had, as per usual SOP and then we headed down the South Rim hopping on the Boobs, rolling down the Wall of Considerable Consequence and stopping on our way back to the North Rim at the Wall of Death.

Of course, Kenny rode it.

And as these rides tend to go, there’s always someone who hasn’t rocked a move that suddenly pulls it off with style and perfection as if they had just been waiting to release it. This was the case with Joey as he rolled in on got the KOM on the Wall.

The stoke was high as we all made our way back to the trailhead. A couple people got lost, not sure how, but shit happens and they eventually made it back to the group about the time the first bag of Doritos was destroyed. Some of the party needed to get back for VD duties they had left to sneak in a ride. The rest of repaired to the Yurts for some more Doritos and adult recovery drinks.

Proving once again, that the Goose with the Moose is the most legal fun you can have in Southern Utah.

While we won’t be hitting the Goose this weekend, the Alliance has a bikepacking trip planned. Everyone is welcome.
